Longing by Maria Ritsch
Maria Ritsch’s work focuses on the complexity of perception, the observation and study of the human body that moves through time and space, finding minimalist lines and shapes through architectural space and motion from both sides, the photographer and the photographed subject. She examines the boundaries between the human and the machine, surveillance and on how photography and video form our contemporary identities. With her interdisciplinary approach she tries to extend the two dimensional layer of photography engaging with objects, sound, performance, projections and space where the audience becomes a mayor role of the whole. Maria Ritsch graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna in 2014 and attended the Online School for Visual Design in 2015. She currently works and lives in Vienna.
