A mindscape is the mental landscape of one’s inner reality. Combining the words ‘mind’ (the faculty of thought and consciousness) and ‘-scape’ (abstracted from ‘landscape’, meaning ‘form’ or ‘formation’ as well as ‘scene’ or ‘space’) a mindscape describes an inner space from where one’s view of an outer reality is initiated. These inner landscapes are highly subjective and are formed through an individual’s experience of their real-life surroundings.
Our exhibition MINDSCAPES focuses on photographic art in which these mental landscapes are mapped out and manifested into panoramas capable of being contemplated by other people.
Featuring works from
David Schermann (Vienna/AT)
Kurt Prinz (Vienna/AT)
Pujan Shakupa (Berlin/GER),
each artist creates reflections of their inner workings and how they perceive the world presented through compositions that feel familiar yet dreamlike and often surreal.
